Ellen J. Schwartz, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist with a private psychotherapy practice in Englewood, New Jersey. She trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, including professional training with Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli at the Omega Institute and the Practicum for Instructors of MBSR. She continues to regularly attend trainings and retreats related to mindfulness and MBSR as well as to offer sitting meditation, and workshops for the community. She is a trained MBSR teacher, registered yoga instructor and LifeForce Yoga® level 1 practitioner.

Ellen earned her doctorate in psychology from NYU and for over 20 years has had a private psychotherapy practice specializing in work with children, teens, adults and providing parent counseling. She has a particular expertise in integrating mindfulness practices into her work with those who deal with ADHD, learning issues and/or anxiety and depression. Ellen's background in both psychodynamic psychotherapy and evidence-based cognitive approaches also inform her work.
